The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) today is releasing a revised Form I-9, the Employment Eligibility Verification form used by all employers in the country.
The changes to the Form I-9 include new fields, reformatting to reduce errors, and clearer instructions for both employees and employers. Additionally, the Handbook for Employers (M-274) guide to using the Form I-9 is in the process of being updated to correspond to the new form and will be released soon.
The new I-9 must be used starting 60 days from today. It is available from Personnel Concepts.
