Following an announcement by Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JP Morgan Chase, Apple is beating that alliance to the punch by opening its own health care delivery system this spring called AC Wellness.

The initiative’s nascent website likens the new service to a “concierge” system focused on two primary care units to begin with:
AC Wellness Network believes that having trusting, accessible relationships with our patients, enabled by technology, promotes high-quality care and a unique patient experience. This is fostered by an environment of continuous learning and teamwork, which in turn allows us to work with our patients to achieve exceptional health outcomes. The centers offer a unique concierge-like healthcare experience for employees and their dependents.
AC Wellness is currently recruiting for its staff, noting: “Candidates must have an appreciation for the patient experience and passion for wellness and population health — integrating best clinical practices and technology in a manner that drives patient engagement.” The venture will be independent from Apple but will serve only Apple personnel and families.
The clinics will initially operate only in Santa Clara County, where its headquarters is located.
Apple in April 2017 opened its 175-acre Apple Park campus in Cupertino, Calif.
